Understanding Movement Participants

Learn what the different participant roles in a movement are.

Updated over 8 months ago

Participants are individuals or organisations that are in some way involved in the movement of a material. A single movement can involve multiple participants:

  • Creator: Organisation that created this movement record in the system.

  • Generator: Organisation or owner of the location where the material was generated.

  • Consignor: Organisation that is responsible for starting the waste movement.

  • Transporter: Organisation that is responsible for moving the waste from pick up to

    drop off.

  • Receiver: Organisation that is responsible for receiving the waste movement.

Note: Participants can occupy more than one role in a movement process, for example the receiver may also be the transporter.
