Understand how different Movement and Movement Authorisations are viewed by different participants.

Updated this week

What is Commercial in Confidence (CIC?)

The CIC feature in a Movement or Movement Authorisation determines if the generator details can be seen by the receival facility. This option is mostly relevant for transporters, who may not want the receival facility to know who the customer (the generator of the material) is.

If 'CIC' is selected 'Yes', the receiver will see “Commercial in Confidence” in place of the below fields:

  • Pick up location address

  • Pick up location name

  • Pick up instructions

  • Generator Organisation name

  • Generator contact name

  • Generator contact email

  • Generator licence

  • Generator ANZSIC Code & Description

Note: If 'Yes' is selected for CIC, this will not hide the generator and pick up details from the receival facility IF the transporter and receival facility are the same organisation.

If the Transporter and Receiver are the same organisation, the generator and pick up details will not be hidden from the receival facility. This is because it is by general common practice that the receiver has knowledge of who the transporter that is dropping off waste at their facility.

If the Generator and Transporter are the same organisation, the Receiver will see the Transporter but 'Commercial in Confidence' will apply to the Generator (i.e. the Generator details are still hidden from the Receiver)

Multi-pickup (milk run) movements

  • If the consignor is one of the generators, the consignor is hidden from the receiver for all items in the movement.

  • If the creator is one of the generators, the creator is hidden from the receiver for all items in the movement

The roles and meanings of different participants within a mobrmn

  • Creator: Organisation that created this movement record in the system.

  • Generator: Organisation or owner of the location where the material was generated.

  • Consignor: Organisation that is responsible for starting the waste movement.

  • Transporter: Organisation that is responsible for moving the waste from pick up to

    drop off.

  • Receiver: Organisation that is responsible for receiving the waste movement.

Note: Participants can occupy more than one role in a movement process, for example the receiver may also be the transporter.
