How to get setup as an Admin user with the authentication app

Note: Two Factor Authentication can only be set up on one mobile device per user. Administrators MUST keep the Authenticator App installed on their phones.

This page contains instructions on how to install an authenticator App on both Apple and Android. Use the links below to jump to the right section for you:

Apple phone instructions:

1 - Open App Store.

2 - Click on the 'Search' icon.

3 - Type in search either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, these apps are free.

3 - Locate the app searching for and click on the app to open.

Tip: Recommend only to click on Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator and avoid ad (sponsored) apps as they will most likely cost money to use.

4 - Within the app description, click the 'Get' button. You may have to enter your phone password depending on your phone setting. This will start downloading the app.

Microsoft Authenticator: Google Authenticator:

5 - Once the app is installed click the 'Open' button. To launch the app.

Android phone instructions:


1 - Open Google Play Store.

2 - Type in search either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, these apps are free.

3 - Locate the app searching for and click on the app to open.

Tip: Recommend only to click on Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator and avoid ad (sponsored) apps as they will most likely cost money to use.

4 - Within the app description click the 'Install' button. You may have to enter your phone password depending on your phone setting. This will start downloading the app.

5 - Once the app is installed click the 'Open' button. To launch the app.

Google Authenticator setup:

6 - Click on the 'Get started' button.

7 - Choose to either setup an account by clicking on the 'continue' button (if choose this option then follow the steps on the screen) or click on the 'Use Authenticator without an account' word.

8 - Click on 'Add a code' button.

9 - The 'Set up your first account' page loads, options:

'Scan a QR code' - if you are setting up KPMG Origins on your computer select this option to setup the authenticator by scan the QR code.

'Enter a setup key' - if you are setting up KPMG Origins on your mobile select this option for a generate a code and the account name these can be enter into the authenticator app manually via either copy & paste or typing them in.

10 - If selected 'Scan a QR code, click 'OK' to allow access to camera to scan the QR code.

Then scan the QR code.

11 - The authenticator app will generate a unique 6 digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds.

This code is essential for authentication every time you login as admin user.​

Note: Each KPMG Origins environment requires its own unique code. Make sure to match the environment URL with the correct code.

URL and authentication app need to be the same environment:

Sandbox Learning environment: URL: sandbox.app.kpmgorigins.com needs the code from ‘KPMG Origins Sandbox: [your email]’

Live Version: URL: app.kpmgorigins.com needs the code from ‘KPMG Origins: [your email]’

12 - To finish setup your KPMG Origins account Enter the 6 digit code generated by your authentication app and click 'Verify'.​

Microsoft Authenticator setup:

6 - Click on the 'Accept' button and then 'Continue' button.

7 - Choose to either setup an account by clicking on the 'Sign in with Microsoft' button (if choose this option then follow the steps on the screen) or click on the 'Scan a QR code' button.

8 - Choose and click on one of the options.

9 - The 'Add account' page loads, options:
