How to create a movement from an approved Movement Authorisation.

Updated over a week ago

To Create Movements from Movement Authorisations, the Movement Authorisation must first be 'Approved' by the receival facility or Regulator.

1 - Firstly, click on the 'Movement Authorisations' button .

2 - Select the approved Movement Authorisation that you wish to create a movement from:

3 - Select the 'Create Movement from _____' button.

4 - Confirm the Pick Up & Drop off Locations. If the Movement is for Multi-Pickup (Milk Run) select the specific locations you will be collecting from. Once you have done this, select the number of Movements you wish to create as well as whether the Movement is Commercial in Confidence (CIC), then click Continue.

If the Movement Authorisation you are creating this Movement from has CIC as 'Yes' then this Movement will default to 'Yes'. If the Movement Authorisation linked to this Movement has selected CIC as 'No', you may still be able to select 'Yes' for this Movement.

Refresh the browser to see the new movements.

5 – Your Movement will then been created, and you will be brought to the Movement Summary screen. Select the ‘Add Details’ button next to step one of the movement process section.

6 - A lot of the information from the Movement Authorisation will pre-populate the fields. Click through each section to ensure the details are accurate and up to date.

7 - The subsequent steps in the Movement process should be completed by the relevant Participant e.g. consignor, transporter. The steps and the Participants required to complete them may differ depending on the material and Regulators involved.

8 - Once all of the steps of the Movement process have been completed the Movement will be submitted to the Regulator.

If your Movement cannot be created from a Movement Authorisation, it could be because of the below reasons:

  • When a Movement Authorisation has been cancelled, expired, or withdrawn.

    • To create Movements for a Movement Authorisation with the same details, Copy the Cancelled, Expired, or Withdrawn Movement Authorisation, and once it has been submitted and approved, you can create Movements under the newly approved Movement Authorisation.

  • When a Movement Authorisation is still in progress and has not yet been approved.

    • Request the Organisation or Regulator with permission to Approve the Movement Authorisation
